Michele Santacroce joined the Law Firm of Merlino & Gonzalez in 2002, making her the most senior member of our administrative team. Before that, she graduated from Gibbs College in the top ten percent of her class and made her bones on the executive floor at AIG Insurance, not a place for the slow-witted or weak-hearted. After taking a three-year break to spend time with her newborn daughter, she decided to enter the glamorous world of real estate and estate planning law.
Michele might be small in stature, but don’t let that fool you. She’s a force to be reckoned with at the office, solving problems, calming nerves, and making our clients feel at ease. These might be rare achievements for lots of people, but they’re routine for Michele.
As a lifelong Mets and Jets fan, Michele feels a kinship with underdogs. That, along with her caring nature, is why she devotes a ton of effort to organizations dedicated to serving the Staten Island community. She volunteers with the Red Cross, the Staten Island Board of Realtors’ Young Professionals Network, and various animal advocacy groups.
It’s hard to even remember what the firm was like before Michele arrived. We think this quote sums it up: “I suppose you could have called it living, but we were probably just surviving.”
