Staten Island real estate attorneys and locals would not likely be surprised to learn that Staten Island was included on a recent list of the 2019 hottest New York City neighborhoods.

An online real estate platform known as Localize.city put the St. George area and other desirable neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs on the hotspot list after considering factors such as “parks, transit upgrades, cultural amenities, shopping, dining options and more”.

With the development of the St. George area focused on making life more exciting for existing Islanders, as well as attracting new homebuyers, new residential apartment renters, and new commercial business tenants– and tourist traffic, too—who would want to live anywhere else? It’s all right here, and so close to Manhattan for those who want to work there or access the city for social reasons.

New York commercial and residential real estate attorneys handle not only the legalities of the purchase, sale, and construction of real property, but also drafting a negotiation of commercial and residential leases. The much-anticipated Lighthouse Point residential building will consist of approximately 16 stories, 120 residential units and commercial/retail space on the lower levels. Twenty percent of the residential units are slated to be assigned through a city-run affordable housing lottery.

In addition to Lighthouse Point, Empire Outlets– dubbed New York’s first outlet mall– contributed to the area’s hotspot label. Residents and visitors are expected to be drawn to the development’s “100 stores, 190 room hotel and dozens of dining options”.

These developments may do more than offer a better quality of life on Staten Island. They may positively impact the value of Staten Island real estate, which existing homeowners can certainly appreciate.
